To keep this high energy child quiet her mother taught her to use scissors, then needles thread and fabric, then sewing machines, and so, a passion was born!
At least three generations of mentoring women have nurtured this passion.
Jane’s formal education involved as many Home Economics classes as she could sneak into the Zoology degree schedule. The opportunity came to purchase an existing needlework shop and as they say the rest is history! Though she had taught knitting, sewing, tatting, embroidery, smocking, and nearly anything else using a needle wherever she lived, this was the first opportunity to really turn allow the passion to become a business! The business grew; she learned more and met lots of additional mentors. During the most recent years, Jane worked toward a real textile design degree, was the National Events Manager for Bernina of America and Director of Education for YLI Corporation and has now “retired” to be the owner of Threadnuts the North American Importer of a hand-painted line of beautiful threads from Germany. She is the mother of two human daughters (both who have caught the bug but not the passion) the grandmother of three human children and has two canine “children” (just ask them).
How can you convince your customers they should try a stunning new thread you HAVE to share with them? Join Jane Garrison of Threadnuts and stitch a small sampler of these beautiful fibers which will give your customers a visual world of possibilities.
